Matilda Grieve is currently in her third year of the Bachelor of Music degree majoring in classical saxophone. She has an undeniably growing passion for classical saxophone, chamber music and composition. Matilda has composed works for the Queensland Conservatorium Saxophone Orchestra, Stitched Saxophone Quartet and has placed in the ASME Young Composers competition. Prior to her acceptance to the Conservatorium, Matilda completed her Certificate of Performance and Amus A exams on Alto Saxophone. Matilda has gained ensemble experience by being a part of the Queensland Conservatorium Wind Orchestra, the Con Artists, QCSO and Stitched Saxophone Quartet. She has performed at various concerts with each ensemble, namely the Australasian Clarinet and Saxophone Conference in Sydney with the QCSO, Brisbane River stage as part of the G20 cultural celebrations with the Con Artist and has performed as the support act for Silvie Paladino with Stitched Quartet. Matilda aspires to be a professional performer, remain a member of Stitched Quartet and hopes to further her composing skills. She believes her studies at the Queensland Conservatorium will advance her into her potential professional career.
