Jazmin Ealden is currently in her second year of the Bachelor of Music degree under the direction of Ms Emma Di Marco. Before starting at the Queensland Conservatorium Griffith University, Jazmin gained the majority of her musical knowledge and experience through the award winning St Andrew’s Catholic College music department in Cairns. She was a highly esteemed member and section leader of the college concert band and jazz band for over 6 years as well as the wind quintet and saxophone ensemble. Although only beginning saxophone studies in 2007, Jazmin received a high distinction for her Grade 8 AMEB examination in 2011. In 2014, she competed in the Queensland Clarinet and Saxophone Society competition and placed 1st for the Open Saxophone section. Jazmin has participated in many music workshop programs as a student including the State Honours Ensemble Program, Queensland Catholic Schools Music Festival and ‘Playing It Together’ ensemble competition. Now soprano saxophonist for the Stitched Saxophone Quartet, she managed their first regional tour earlier this year. Jazmin is driven to establish her own chamber music education workshop series and share her passion for chamber music with aspiring young musicians around Australia and overseas.
