Candice Showers

IMG_2679 CandiceCandice has studied at the Queensland Conservatorium for over three years majoring in Classical Saxophone under the direction of Australian woodwind specialist Diana Tolmie. Beginning her music studies on the Gold Coast, Candice developed a passion for playing in orchestras and smaller ensembles which led to her desire to pursue music as a professional saxophonist and music educator. Candice has been an active member of the Queensland Conservatorium Saxophone Orchestra and the Queensland Conservatorium Wind Orchestra since 2012. In her first year of university, she was fortunate enough to travel and perform with the Queensland Saxophone Orchestra at the World Saxophone Congress XVI in Scotland and the 30th ISME World Conference on Music Education in Greece as part of the group’s European Tour. The following year she also performed with this group at the Australasian Saxophone and Clarinet Conference in Sydney. Candice is the alto saxophonist and founding member of Brisbane based saxophone quartet “Stitched” and has enjoyed playing within this ensemble for nearly 2 years. She hopes to explore her musical opportunities further in her last year at the Conservatorium and continue to travel and perform both in Australia and overseas
